Resort Improvements
Canyons Resort is under new ownership, now controlled by Toronto based Talisker Corp. Talisker has been doing business in Park City since 2000 and has developed the gated Tuhaye golf community and opulent Tower Club at Deer Valley Resort. Canyons now boasts new high-end properties such as the Waldorf Astoria Park City and the slopeside Escala Lodges. The Frostwood pulse gondola was added to provide lift access to the Waldorf Astoria Park City and The Miner’s Club. Other newly completed lodging options are the Silverado Lodge and the Vintage on the Strand townhomes.
In 2008, the Tombstone Express lift was upgraded to a high-speed 6-pack lift to reduce congestion on busy days during the season. Other previous improvements include a major renovation to the centrally located Red Pine Lodge. The renovation and expansion added 175 seats, upgraded food serving stations, and now featuring a new bar area on the second floor.
Something for Everyone
Canyons is Park City, Utah’s unsung hero. This absolutely massive ski and snowboard resort is the largest in Utah and the fifth largest in the United States. This resort is celebrated by locals for having some of the best lift served backcountry terrain and awesome bowls that collect huge powder stashes, all while remaining relatively un-crowded. Canyon's immense size is one of the reasons that many portions of the mountain have few crowds. Navigating The Canyons eight peaks can be challenging for unfamiliar visitors, but Canyons Mountain Hosts are readily available to provide guidance and once you've got the hang of it you will be rewarded with top quality scenery and terrain.
