Don’t Miss These Park City Sushi Restaurants!

Sushi, Park City Utah - ImageIn order to create the most memorable vacation possible, it’s essential that you sample as many of the local restaurants as you can.  If you’re looking for Park City restaurants specializing in sushi, that means selecting from quite a few excellent sushi establishments.  Whether you’re a veteran sushi diner or a novice ready to finally give it a chance, Park City has a sushi restaurant to suit your needs.

When you arrive in Park City, you’ll quickly notice that the town is centered around Main Street, and the same is true of Park City’s restaurant and nightlife scene.  Some of the best Park City sushi places are located here, including The Flying Sumo, Oishi, Yuki Arashi, and Shabu.  The Flying Sumo, boasting a sign with its namesake on skis, is a place that stands out, both prior to entering and upon departure.  This intimate sushi restaurant is perfect for a date or a small group, with its cozy interior and conservative lighting.  Appease your hunger with a steaming bowl of edamame, and allow the professional sushi chefs to wine and dine you with one of their famous rolls.  You can’t go wrong with the spider or surf and turf options!

Another Main Street staple is Oishi Sushi Bar & Grill, situated behind the Marriott Summit Watch on lower Main Street.  With fresh fish arriving daily, the sushi chefs employed here create some of the most unique and delicious varieties of nigiri and sashimi you’ll ever taste.  After sampling the J-Roll or the Red Dragon, you’ll be ready to roll out for a night on the town while you rave about the offerings of Oishi!

Located a little further up Main Street is Yuki Arashi, another sushi restaurant that calls the historic district home.  It distinguishes itself from Oishi by offering an infusion of Korean and French influences in its cuisine.  This Asian Tapas bar offers a festive atmosphere combining wood, light, and stone architecture, making your dining experience truly unique on all levels.

The final player in the Main Street sushi scene is Shabu, and this is a restaurant that should not be missed under any circumstances.  Shabu is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant that presents a romantic, laid-back atmosphere with some of the best food in the area.  The chefs are given free reign to design unique, tasteful menu items, and this creativity is evident in all of Shabu’s offerings.  Try the White Dragon or Nitro rolls.  Try something from the endless sashimi list.  Try anything-you won’t be disappointed.

Now that introductions have been made to the Main Street area sushi establishments, it’s time to widen the perimeter and expose some of the additional sushi restaurants in Park City.  On Kearns Boulevard at The Yard at Park City you’ll find Blind Dog Grill & Sushi Bar.  Named Best of City steak and sushi in 2005 and earning Zagat awards every year since, Blind Dog knows how to delight its customers.  This steak restaurant and sushi bar combination has something for everyone, including patrons with reluctant or conservative palates.

Another great option for sushi lovers looking for something slightly off the beaten path is Sushi Maru, located right next to the Holiday Village movie theater.  The restaurant’s quality dining menu and reasonable prices might encourage you to take your date to the neighboring cinema for a post-dinner movie, with some money to spare on popcorn and sodas.  Not that you’ll have room after sampling the Philadelphia or Death rolls!

The last group of sushi restaurants in Park City is located near Kimball Junction, and should not be overlooked.  With options such as the Last Samurai and Hapa Grill, you’ll want to ensure you make time to visit these incredible dining establishments!  The Last Samurai opened last year to rave reviews, and has been pleasing customers ever since.  This Benihana-style restaurant sports group seating and visual effects as chefs create your cuisine in front of you.  Sushi and steak are just a few of the options on the menu.  Families and friends alike will delight in the top-notch service and festive dining experience.

Finally, Hapa Grill is a sushi bar and restaurant that creatively combines Hawaiian and Japanese flavors in its menu offerings, to the delight of locals and tourists alike.  Sit in an intimate booth with your date or kick back around a table with your boisterous family; you’ll find something to please whomever you bring.  Be sure to try the Hapa Burger with your sushi; according to the Salt Lake Tribune, it’s the best burger in Utah!

With so many world-class Park City sushi restaurants to choose from, don’t forget to allow enough vacation days in Park City to sample them all!
